When you head to the store to pick up ingredients for this no-bake cheesecake, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, the star of the show: cream cheese. We suggest buying a full-fat cream cheese instead of a reduced-fat option, like Neufchatel cheese. No-bake cheesecake is exactly what the name suggests.
Instructions to make Cheesecake No bake pie:
- Make the crust first. Combine graham crackers and cookies in a food processor or gallon ziploc bag. Grind or beat them to a pulp. Add the sugar and butter and combine til it’s the consistency of wet sand. Put in a pie dish and press it into place. I use the bottom of a measuring cup sprayed with nonstick spray. At this point you can bake the crust at 350 for about 10 minutes but I don’t like mine baked.
- In a large bowl beat the cream cheese and sugar together first. This is insurance for no lumps. Add the sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice and vanilla. Poor into pie crust and smooth the top. Refrigerate for at least a couple of hours before cutting.
- Top with any fruit or pie filling or chocolate or whatever you like on yours and enjoy!
- Here’s the damaged pie but not a single crumb got wasted 🙃
We suggest buying a full-fat cream cheese instead of a reduced-fat option, like Neufchatel cheese. No-bake cheesecake is exactly what the name suggests. The graham cracker crust and cheesecake filling never see the inside of the oven, so it's a fantastic dessert when the weather's warm or when your oven is crowded. Or when you don't feel like baking. 😉 No-bake cheesecake is a lot easier than baked cheesecake. The only fat in this no-bake recipe is in the crust..
Foods That Make Your Mood Better
Many of us believe that comfort foods are terrible for us and that we must avoid them. If your comfort food is candy or junk food this can be true. Other times, however, comfort foods can be altogether nourishing and it’s good for you to consume them. There are several foods that basically can raise your moods when you eat them. When you are feeling a little down and need an emotional boost, test out a couple of these.
Eggs, believe it or not, are wonderful for helping you fight depression. You need to be sure, however, that what you make includes the egg yolk. The yolk is the most essential part of the egg iwhen it comes to helping you cheer up. Eggs, the egg yolk in particular, are high in B vitamins. These B vitamins are wonderful for helping to boost your mood. This is because they help in bettering the function of your neural transmitters, the components of your brain that affect your mood. Eat an egg and cheer up!
Build a trail mix from seeds and/or nuts. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, etcetera are all wonderful for elevating your mood. This is possible as these foods are high in magnesium which promotes your production of serotonin. Serotonin is referred to as the “feel good” chemical substance and it tells your brain how you should be feeling all the time. The more serotonin you have, the more pleasant you will feel. Nuts, in addition to raising your mood, can be a superb source of protein.
Cold water fish are wonderful for eating if you are wanting to fight depression. Cold water fish like tuna, trout and wild salmon are rich in DHA and omega-3 fatty acids. These are two things that raise the quality and the function of your brain’s gray matter. It’s true: eating a tuna fish sandwich can basically help you fight back depression.
It’s not hard to fight your bad mood when you consume grains. Quinoa, millet, teff and barley are all really excellent for helping boost your happiness levels. They help you feel full too which can truly help to make your mood better. Feeling starved can be a real downer! The reason these grains are so good for your mood is that they are not difficult for your body to digest and process. They are simpler to digest than other foods which helps kick up your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, improves your mood.
Green tea is really excellent for your mood. You were sure it had to be in here somewhere, right? Green tea is high in a specific amino acid referred to as L-theanine. Studies have found that this amino acid actually induces brain waves. This helps improve your mental sharpness while relaxing the rest of your body. You were already aware that green tea could help you feel healthier. Now you are well aware that green tea helps you to lift your moods also!
Now you know that junk food isn’t necessarily what you have to eat when you wish to help your moods get better. Try a couple of of these hints instead.
